Project one write up

This project is about our society and this false sense of individuality that we have. If we all experience the same television shows, and wear the same clothes, can we really be that different?

I spent 16 hours in a car this weekend and it really helped me solidify in my mind what kind of work i want to make this semester. Unfortunatley this led to me deciding to start over and I guess overall my project was a little rushed. I learned a lot and am now pretty comfortable working with in the timeline in AE. My biggest challenge for this project, and most others still remains not being satisified with something when it is 90% done. After all, god is in the details.

In my opinion your movie is the most interesting one I looked at. Transitions are extremely smooth, background goes well with animated character, good ending.

I like your sarcastic approach to the vide. The intro screen of the video "celebration of life" and the style of the images are nice.

Also like the end sequence where all the little guys look the same.

- The images of the school, television, and the workplace have beer wedged in. However, how makes for an out of place image. As beer is a choice drug, as the others are social settings. Even Television is a social setting, because it can't be avoided. Even if you do not watch television, you will be exposed to it in a social setting. Unlike Beer, Television does also provide images of other social settings -- such as Beer Ads, thus making people want Beer.

- Transitions need to be fluid, perhaps try layering an opacity.

- Flowers and plants at bottom of animation are cropped too short of the bored and float.

Looks really good, the character is from a south park character generator though isnt it?
Overall good concept, good execution/animation/keyframing. My biggest complaint is that the art direction could use a little unification, and some of the elements arent 100% complete, but as you said, and same as everyone, ran out of time.

Very smooth transitions! I love this character you have introduced to the viewer, as if we are on this journey with him. Also, very humorous being picked up by the head, with this machine. Maybe he's "hard-headed"

the idea that we are all identical because we engage ourselves to the samethings is visually displayed with the images of the computer, tv and etc. Yet, to me the landscape with the house in the begining of your movie contrast your idea. I see landscapes of having their own identity. No particular place is the same as the other. If you were going to change your composition, i would consider the use of the landscape and its impact to your content,
